Two BAFTAs for ITV’s The Lost Honour of Christopher Jefferies

Congratulations to writer Peter Morgan, director Roger Michell, lead actor Jason Watkins and all the team behind ITV’s The Lost Honour of Christopher Jefferies which won the award for Best Mini Series at last night’s British Academy Television Awards.  Jason Watkins won the award for Best Lead Actor.

The Lost Honour of Christopher Jefferies is based on the true story of Christopher Jefferies, a retired schoolmaster who was arrested when his tenant, 25-year-old landscape architect Joanna Yeates, was found murdered on Christmas Day in 2010.  While in custody, Jefferies was monstered by the media. He was released without charge and Vincent Tabak was subsequently convicted of the murder of Joanna Yeates.

A team at SM&B including Louis Charalambous, Lucy Moorman and Jeff Smele acted for Christopher Jefferies as he obtained substantial damages and apologies from eight national newspapers in July 2011.  To read more, click here.
