News today from the DPP: Privy Council overturns murder conviction in The Bahamas

The Privy council has today overturned the conviction of a Bahamian man who had no representation in his murder trial, and in which the prosecution sought the death penalty. Due to “serious mismanagement”, Mr Bain was deprived of a fair trial and the matter will now be sent back to the Court of Appeal in The Bahamas to decide whether a retrial should be ordered.
