The legal implications of GDPR – Video 6: Will we need a Data Protection Officer?

New General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) become law in May 2018, and businesses will have to consider how the move will be introduced, and who will oversee the transition. Some might have to consider changes to staff to incorporate the extra administration time required.

In this series, we have looked at some of the items in the Data Protection Bill: common misconceptions; legal obligations and how they will affect your business. In the sixth and final Video in our mini-series, Raoul Lumb addresses whether companies ought to employ a Data Protection Officer to mange the risks, and explores what other options businesses have.

The series featured six short clips from a seminar delivered in our Soho Offices in summer 2017. View them all here for a snapshot of how the Data Protection landscape is changing.
