Employment Law Weekly News Update

SM&B’s weekly news update including:

• The EAT uphold an ET’s decision that the dismissal of a teacher who showed an X-rated film to vulnerable teenagers at a time when he was significantly impaired by stress was discrimination arising from disability.
• As Christmas approaches, Acas have published guidance on some of the difficult issues which can arise where holidays and changing working patterns cause workplace challenges which need to be handled with care.
• The MoJ have published the employment tribunal statistics for July to September 2016 which show that a total of 4,300 single claims were received, up 2% on July to September 2015.
• The Government has published its response to the consultation on gender pay gap reporting which includes the support measures which will be provided for employers.
