Employment Law Weekly News Update – 14th September 2017

In this edition:

• An ET upholds an employee’s constructive dismissal claim after the employer imposed a change to his contract which breached an agreed flexible working request that he would only work Monday to Friday.
• An ET sees no reason to order a Respondent to reimburse the tribunal fees paid by a successful Claimant as the fees have been quashed by the Supreme Court and they should be refunded by the Government.
• Acas has published new advice for employers to help them support working parents with premature or sick babies and which also explains the law and takes account of the needs of the business.
• A publication produced by NHS Digital, analysing fit notes issued by GP practices in England from December 2014 to March 2017, reveals that nearly a third of fit notes issued are for psychiatric problems.
